Planetarium And Slide Shows

Junie's Traveling Planetarium teaches about the sky, solar system and the universe using an inflatable Starlab Planetarium that is transported and setup at your function or school.

Schools can avoid long, expensive bus rides to distant planetariums and have their students learn about the night sky in a standard school day. Each presentation can be customized for a particular age group and/or curriculum.

Learn about constellations, the planets, the moon and its phases, the changing of the seasons and the folklore of the sky in a real planetarium that shows the movements of more than 3,000 stars and night sky objects. Our presentations cover many topics. They include, but are not limited to:

  • The motions of the earth, sun, moon, and stars related to days, nights, months, and seasons.
  • The solar system and movement of the planets.
  • What causes the phases of the moon.
  • Star stories about constellations.
  • Finding and understanding the importance of the north Star.
  • What is the significance of stars based on their color and brightness?

Class after Starlab

The Starlab requires a space measuring at least 12 feet high, and floor space measuring at least 25 feet by 25 feet to seat over 30 students. (Depending on the size and age of students)

Slide presentations can accommodate large groups with a mix of photos taken by Junie, and others. Junie follows the same organized sequential format as his planetarium shows.
